Hi everybody!
I am here to tell you Elcoserv has been doing some amazing things the last few weeks! August has come and gone, September is here, that means the end of summer is coming soon. Regardless, we’re still hard at work at making a ton of improvements here for our customers. Some people here have proven that sleep is not a necessary component of daily life… in fact, sleep can be completely replaced by large amounts of Nespresso. This is not a great life, but it is sustainable in the short run…
Here are some of the things we accomplished recently:
- We launched our Affilate programm! Highly anticipated by many of you. For more details, go here.
- We have upgraded MySQL 5.1 to MySQL 5.5 on all our servers.
- We have upgraded Apache 2.2 to Apache 2.4.6, newest version from the Apache project with performance improvements over Apache 2.2.
- PHP Selector: All our Shared and Reseller servers support PHP 5.2, PHP 5.3 and PHP 5.4. The default version is 5.2.x but you can follow the directions below to use PHP 5.3.x or PHP 5.4.x instead. For more details, check our Knowledgebase.
- On Shared and Reseller servers we have implemented LVE technology (Lightweight Virtualized Environment) which Isolates users from each other to avoid the “bad neighbor effect”. Actually it limits abusers while allowing good customers to use what they need.
Shh… don’t tell anyone, but Elcoserv has some big plans! Here are some things we will be working on over the next few weeks:
- We’ll be expanding our server fleet and moving some customers to new servers. The discussions are still early in their processes, but we have high hopes good things will come of them. Customers affected by the move will be receiving more information as we solidify the migration plan.
- We are planning to launch new service, Unmanaged VPS. This is something we’ve been wanting to do for a long time.
- There is a plan to change our hosting packages and fix new prices.
